Obituary of Kay E. Hanna (Startzel)

Kay E. Hanna (Startzel), born January 17, 1957, passed away on January 2, 2024, in Tucson, AZ, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. She spent her formative years in Sierra Vista, excelling in softball and attending Buena High School. Kay was a beloved and dedicated mother and grandmother; as well as a 39-year partner at LM Hanna Co. LLC alongside her spouse of 31 years, Larry Hanna.

She cherished life's simple pleasures, adored her family, and was always there for friends in need. Kay's selflessness and bright personality touched everyone she met.

Kay was predeceased by her parents, Gerald and Frances, along with her brothers Gerald (Skip) Startzel Jr. and Morris Startzel. She is survived by her son, Stephen Hanna; daughters, Jennifer (Adam) Morkert and Melissa (Ryan) Flynn; grandchildren, Logan, Abigail, Jessica, Nathan, Brennan, and Nolan; nephews, Brian and Greg (Laurel) Startzel; sister-in-law Janet Startzel, along with four great nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on January 20, 2024, from 1-5 pm at 7900 E. Fort Lowell, Tucson, AZ 85750. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Autism Care Today.
