Obituary of Charlotte LaRae Nielson
Charlotte LaRae Froman Nielson peacefully passed away on December 26, 2023, surrounded by her children. Born on October 21, 1946, in North Platte, Nebraska, to Harold and Lois Froman, Charlotte's life was a testament to her unwavering commitment to education and family.
After graduating from North Platte High School and the University of Nebraska - Kearney with a teaching degree, Charlotte ventured to Tucson, Arizona, in 1970, where she dedicated herself to nurturing her three children. Her involvement in their education through active participation in the PTA exemplified her dedication to their growth and development.
In the early 1980s, Charlotte embarked on a teaching career at the Amphitheater Unified School District, where her passion for learning shone brightly. Her pursuit of a master's degree in education from the University of Arizona was a testament to her belief in the transformative power of knowledge. Even after her retirement in 2007, Charlotte remained devoted to supporting children as a reading specialist, leaving an indelible mark on young minds.
Family was the cornerstone of Charlotte's life. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She found immense joy in attending their activities and maintaining an active presence in their lives, nurturing each moment with love.
Charlotte is survived by her children, Kris (Keith) Holt, Mark (Alyson) Nielson, and Julie (Brian) Reiter; her cherished grandchildren, Cameron Holt, Carson (Vikki) Holt, Peyton, Riley, and Avery Nielson, and Taylor, Zach, Austin, and Cade Brummels; her great-granddaughter, Charlotte Holt; her sister, Barbara Hunter; and several nieces and nephews.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her father, Harold Froman; mother, Lois Garland Froman; and brother, William Froman.
In honor of Charlotte's lifelong dedication to learning, the family wishes to continue her legacy through a tribute fund that provides books for teachers and students in need.
