Obituary of Marian C. Walsh

Marian C. Walsh, 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, in Tucson, AZ. After completing high school at St. Thomas Catholic School, Marian joined the Air Force as a Radio Technician and was stationed at bases in Texas, Illinois and New Mexico. She met and married her husband, Robert, on July 3, 1954. Throughout her husband's military and government career she lived in Germany, Japan, Okinawa, Virginia, Michigan, Montana, Wyoming, and Texas, before finally settling in Tucson, AZ. Marian graduated from the University of Arizona and worked for the City of Tucson, U.S. State Department, and various National Parks, which included the Grand Canyon, Zion, and Lake Crescent. In her retirement years, she enjoyed travelling and working as a volunteer at the Pima Air Museum and the VA Hospital. She relished spending time with her family including her ménage of animals, reading and, working crosswords. Marian will be remembered for her sense of humor and her joy for life and adventure. Beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandparent, she is survived by her husband, Robert, her four children, Colleen (Gus) Lombardo, Robin (Ralph) Cook, Robert Keith (Gina) Walsh and Lynn (Ron) Sainz; three grandchildren, Patrick Mayer , Katherine Cook and Gigi Walsh; and two great grandchildren, Olivia and Caroline Mayer Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, August 14 at Bring's Broadway Chapel, with a rosary at 7pm. Mass will be held at St Joseph Catholic Church, Monday, August 15 at 9 a.m. Interment will be at the Southern Arizona Veterans Cemetery in Marana at 1 p.m.. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society of AZ.
