Obituary of Doris Brady

Doris Atkinson Brady "Dottie" Passed away August 19' 2016 at 92. Dottie was born Christmas day 1923 in Derbyshire England just outside of Sherwood Forest. She is preceded in death by her husband Jim of 55 years and oldest son Michael. Dottie is survived by children Patti, Terry, Shon, Jacky and Jim. Grandchildren Rita-Marie, Kellen, Bailey, Travis, Jasmine, Jesse and great granddaughter Ava-Lynn. Dottie was a member of the Daughters of the British Empire and embraced her heritage. She served in the Women's Land Army at 17 years old. The Women's Land Army was a force of 80,000 women who took place of the men in farms and fields during WWII. Dottie will be remembered for her reciting of her poetry including her favorite The Clucking Hen. She had a natural talent of playing the piano without ever having. music lessons. She will be missed by family and many friends and always left with the greeting "God Bless". Arrangements are made by Brings and a mass and reception will be held at St. Alban' Episcopal Church located at 3738 N. Old Sabino Canyon Road on Saturday September 24, 2016 at 10:00 am.
