Obituary of Alice Garcia Silva

Our Beloved Alice Garcia Silva, 92, of Tucson, AZ passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at home in her daughter's care. She was born November 26, 1923 in Bisbee, AZ. Is preceded by parents, Gabriel and Matilde Garcia; husband, Rudy, and her eight siblings. Married September 6, 1943 to Rudy M. Silva. A graduate of Bisbee High School. Employed by Phelps Dodge Mining Company, interpreter at Ft. Huachuca during WWII, and retired from Cochise County Treasurers office in 1988. Alice was a voracious reader and especially loved history and geography. She also enjoyed gardening, painting and dancing. Survived by daughter, Jacqueline (Joe); sons, Mark (Lynn), Tony (Marilyn), and daughter, Kimberly (Richard); grandchildren, Tammi (Randy), Mark (Tiffany), Casey and Emily; great-grandchildren, Johannah, Ellis and Madison. Rosary and Funeral Mass to be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, 1800 S. Kolb Rd., at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Southern AZ Veterans Memorial Cemetery to join Rudy at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to The Arthritis Foundation at www.arthritis.org.
