Obituary of Richard Peter Salgado

Salgado, Richard P. "Dick" Richard was born at The Storks Nest in Tucson on December 25, 1938. He passed away peacefully at home on October 15. The second son of four boys, Richard attended Miles Elementary, Mansfeld Junior High and Tucson High where he graduated in 1956. He joined the Tucson Fire Department in 1960 and retired in 1984 as a Captain. While working for the fire department he worked for Bekins Moving and Storage and after retirement became the general manager at Chambers Mayflower. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Donna (Dunn) Salgado, children Denise (Bill) Du Pont, Richard Salgado Jr, Darin (Angela) Salgado, grandchildren Alexandra Du Pont, Anthony (Kristin) Cueto, Mackenzie Salgado, and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Josephine and his brothers Henry, Robert and Michael. Services will be held at St. Joseph's Church, 250 S. Craycroft Rd., on Thursday, October 20, 2016 with the Rosary at 11:30 a.m. and Funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m. with interment at Our Lady of the Desert cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Macular Degeneration research.
