Scott was born in Pikeville, Kentucky to Charley T. and Mae (Akers) Brown. They pre-decease him. The family moved to Fremont, Ohio when he was 6 years old. He went to Riley Township grade school where his mother taught 2nd grade. He spent the summer of his 16th year in Anchorage, Alaska visiting family, which he described as a very beautiful place to be. He graduated from Fremont Ross High School in June 1964.

He entered the US Navy after high school and was assigned to the repair ship, USS Bryce Canyon as a machinist mate, MM3, in the R2 division. He toured the Pacific between Long Beach, Pearl Harbor, Subic Bay, Philippines, Hong Kong and Japan, and was honorably discharged in June 1968.

After the Navy he worked at Brush Beryllium in Elmore, Ohio. He met Theresa Kritzell in May of 1969 and they were married on June 19, 1970. He trained at Toledo Medical Center in 1975 and became one of the first paramedics in Sandusky County, Ohio. He returned to Brush Beryllium (Wellman) in March 1977 and was relocated to Tucson, Arizona in April 1984, where he and his wife raised their family.

He enjoyed Tucson Toros baseball games, Arizona Wildcat football games and playing golf. He was especially proud of playing a Roman Centurion in the Simon Peter play for 3 years. Scott Enjoyed traveling and visiting family.

A few years ago Scott’s health began to fail and in December 2016 he lost his leg due to an infection caused by diabetes and poor circulation. In late December 2017 he suffered the first of a series of strokes that ultimately led to his passing.

He is survived by his wife and children, Andrew, Jennifer, Catherine and Rebecca and their spouses, along with 11 grandchildren that he loved dearly. He was a surrogate father to many of his children’s friends and always had a ready smile for everyone.
