Elizabeth Moore

Obituary of Elizabeth Mae Moore

Our beloved mother, Elizabeth Mae Moore, 89, sadly passed away November 13th, 2023. She was born in Sherman, Texas, where she was raised by her parents George and Percy Bowie until moving to Mountainaire, N.M., in her early teens. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who we could always count on in our time of need.

Elizabeth was survived by her late husband, Floyd G. Moore, 87, who passed away November 18th, 2019. He was born to Winifred and Alma Moore, in Richmond, VA. Dad was a proud veteran who served in the Air Force for 18 years. He would have served longer, but retired due to a disability.

Our parents fell short of celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary by only six weeks. They were full of life, enjoyed music, dancing, camping and, after retirement, traveled the U.S. in their fifth-wheel and loved every minute of it. They instilled in their children to be hard workers, but also to live life to the fullest.

They are survived by their five daughters, Cheryl McCarthy, Jeanne Moore, Sharon Delajoux, Karen Mendez, Debora Moore, and their grandchildren and great grandchildren, Shannon Kelly (Ricardo & Esperanza); Florentino “Tino” Martinez & Christopher Gabbert; Elizabeth Osuna (Nevaeh & Roman) & Marco Osuna; Zachary Smith; & Elliott Yarwood.
