Obituary of Patricia Joan King
With great sadness, we announce the passing of Patrica Joan King on October 6, 2023, one month before her 86th birthday. She passed peacefully and will be forever missed.
Patricia was born and raised in Buffalo, New York and, over the course of her life, lived in Massapequa, New York, Phoenix, Arizona, and for the past 35 years Tucson, Arizona. Patricia retired from the University of Arizona where she spent many years as an executive assistant in the Pulmonary Sciences Department. She had a passion for crafts including quilting and sewing, enjoyed all types of puzzles and card games and was an avid reader. Patricia was a talented long arm quilter and won multiple awards for her quilts. Her family and friends will cherish the many beautiful works of art she made for them over the years. She was a longtime volunteer at Tucson Medical Center and crafted many heart pillows, walker bags, newborn bonnets and quilts for the patients there.
Patricia is survived by her sons James and Jeffrey, her daughters-in-law Maureen and Ann, and her grandchildren Ellen, Matthew, Conor, Griffin, Liam and Michaela. She is also survived by her nephew Peter Wacker, his wife, Judy, and daughters Zia and Zailey. She will be sorely missed.
Family and friends will gather at East Lawn Cemetery in Tucson on Thursday, December 28th at 10:30am to celebrate Patricia’s life. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in her name to Peppi’s House, TMC Hospice at 2715 N. Wyatt Road, Tucson, Az. 85712.
