Obituary of Dora Haydee Chacon
Dora Haydee Chacon, 86, of Tucson Arizona, peacefully passed away on November 13, 2023, at her home. Dora was born on July 4, 1937, in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. Her family immigrated to the United States when she was 11 years old, and she was determined to succeed in school and speak English as well as any native speaker. She spoke English beautifully and became a court translator. She always, however, maintained her love for the culture, faith and land of her mother country, Mexico.
Dora’s favorite ways to spend time were loving animals, caring for plants, cooking and spending time with family. She loved traveling, learning about cultures and people and trying new foods. She is remembered for being bold, painfully truthful, making everyone laugh and pouring her love into those who surrounded her. She always sacrificed her needs for the good of her family or anyone in need.
Dora had 3 children, Ernesto Chacon-Chi, Edith Chi and Heidi Aranda (Hydrick). She also had 10 grandchildren and 7 beautiful great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her sister Olga Oviedo, her daughter Heidi Aranda (Alex Aranda), daughter Edith Chi, grandchildren Daniel, Delbert, Dominic, Emrys, Eric, Jacqueline, Marissa, Seth, Stephen, Raakel and great- grandchildren, Arya, Augustine, Charlie, Melody, Mila and Roman, along with many nephews and nieces. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and they loved their “Marker”.
She is preceded in death by her brothers Ricardo Chacon and Tony Chacon, sisters Laura Cruz and Amanda Lopez, son Ernie Chacon and grandson Nathan Soto.
Mom, thank you for your life fully lived, your love always poured out and the spunk that defined you. I miss you so much but am so happy you are in the arms of the Father.
