Obituary of Mary Huerta Parish

Loving daughter, wife, sister and aunt, Mary (Huerta) Parish, age 81, sadly passed away at her residence in Tucson, Arizona on November 6, 2023.  She was an amazing woman who loved to give and care for others. Mary was gifted with a long and full life and will be sorely missed by all that knew and loved her.

Mary was born on October 12, 1942, to Maria (Elias) Huerta and Fred Huerta, at the Stork’s Nest maternity home in downtown Tucson.  Mary was a seventh generation Tucsonan, and lived her whole life there as well.  She was the youngest of five children.  Mary was married to Johnny Parish and they had a loving marriage.  Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Fred Huerta Jr., Rose Cruz, Gilbert Huerta and Elizabeth (Henthorn) Huerta, wife to Joe Huerta.  She is survived by her brother Joe Huerta and several nieces and nephews.

Mary was a dedicated and loving wife and family caregiver. The care and well-being of her family was her primary focus.  She also had a passion for the care and well-being of animals that lacked the safety and security that they deserved.  She was diligent about helping those that needed that little bit of extra support. 

Her family is honoring her life with a viewing service at Bring’s Broadway Chapel on 6910 East Broadway Blvd., Tucson, Arizona, 85710, on Monday, November 13, 2023 from 1:00- 4:00 pm.  The Rosary will begin at 3:00 pm.  A mass will be held Tuesday, November 14 at St. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church on 1946 E Lee St., Tucson, Arizona, 85719, at 9:00 am. She will be interred at Holy Hope Cemetery, 3555 N Oracle Rd., Tucson, Arizona, 85705,  immediately following services.
