Obituary of Dianne Marie Stebbins

Dianne Marie Stebbins, wife, mother of four, grandmother of 12, and great-grandmother of 11, died Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Peppi’s House in Tucson, Arizona. She was 78 years old.

She was born November 13, 1944, at Richmond, California, the second child of Norman J. Woolley and Marguerite F. Cleppe. After the end of World War II, they moved from California to Des Moines, Iowa, where she grew up.

She graduated from St. Joseph Academy, now part of Dowling High School, in Des Moines. She married James J. Turner in 1962. They were later divorced.

In the early 1970’s, she moved to Hobbs, New Mexico, and was employed as the parish secretary at St. Helena’s Catholic Church and later with the Hobbs School District. While in Hobbs, she met, and married on Dec. 21, 1979, her husband of more than 43 years, Maurice Stebbins. Upon that marriage, the couple moved to Tucson.

She was employed by Tucson Electric Power Company and retired in February 2007 after 27 years. She was a collector of angel figurines and referred to her friends and medical providers as “my angels on earth.”

She is survived by her husband, Maurice Stebbins of Tucson. Survivors also include son Edwin J. Turner of Duvall, Washington, son John D. Turner (wife Elaina) of Sanger, Texas, daughter Anne Marie Eldridge of Tucson, and son Adrian A. Stebbins (wife Angel) also of Tucson. Others include her brother John Woolley of West Des Moines, Iowa, Steven Woolley (wife Janice) of Lake Winnebego, Missouri, and sister Mary Wadle of Norwalk, Iowa.

Additionally, she is survived by many cousins and a number of nieces and nephews.
