Obituary for John Soltero 
John Soltero was born on June 24, 1924 in Globe AZ. He passed away after a short illness on May 19, 2023 in Tucson, AZ. He was the third of ten children born to Roberto and Carolina Soltero. 
John married Julia Medina on June 14, 1947 in Tucson. John and Julia had three children, John Soltero, Sandra Soltero, and Julie Soltero-Waugh. They also had many grandchildren and great-grand children. John and Julia were married 75 years until her passing on November 12, 2022. 
John enlisted in the Army Aircorp in 1943 and flew 32 missions, in a B 17, during World War 11. John went on to become a career military man, serving in the Air Force. He saw combat in World War 11, Korea and Vietnam. John received many medals and special recognition for his service. He retired at the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. 
John was highly involved in the Democratic Party in Pima County. In 1994 he received the "Arizona Democrat of the Year" award. 
After he retired from the Air Force, John sold real estate in Tucson, until finally retiring at 85 years of age. 
John was very outgoing. He was a good story teller and had a lot of amazing stories to tell! John Soltero will be remembered as a dedicated son, brother, husband, father, uncle and grandfather.
