I was born and raised in Red Springs. I didn’t know Hilda Gray but my older brothers did . I remember her father Carson who built my father a barber shop and set him up in business. My father health declined and and had to give up his shop. He lived abut six months after closing up. .Carson Manness was a true American man who helped my father. .I was about 7 years old and he always treated me with respect. Thought and prayers are with the family…… zJim , Johnny, Kenneth,Minnie, Frances and Peggy.
