Obituary of Ruth Ann Forbes

RuthAnn Forbes, 79, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away in her home in the early morning hours of March 18, 2023.

RuthAnn was born in Hyde Park, NY on August 27, 1943, to Dorothy and Olof Ericson. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park, New York, where she was the captain of the cheerleading team, and continued her education taking classes at Duchess Community College.

RuthAnn married James Edward Forbes (Jimmy) and together they had 2 children, Justine and Judi. She was a stay-at-home mom while her girls were young and later worked as a church secretary. RuthAnn was Lutheran and her faith was always the most important part of her life. Helping and serving others was her passion; she was actively involved in the altar guild and served as a lay minister visiting those who were unable to attend church. RuthAnn loved to knit, and made blankets for each of her children and grandchildren, and many others. She loved her desert home and enjoyed taking long walks. Sabino Canyon was one of her favorite places.

RuthAnn is survived by her daughters Justine (Charles) Wolgemuth, Judi (Dave) Wedemeier, cousin Peg (Rich) Indermill, nieces, Laura Asher, Heather (Dave) Linnell, nephews, Darren (Linda) Forbes, and Ian Forbes, grandchildren, Ewan Wolgemuth, Noah Wolgemuth, Ariadne Wolgemuth, Madison Wedemeier, and Evelyn Wedemeier. She was preceded in death by husband James Edward Forbes, sister Korin Louise Asher, niece Lynelle Renee Asher, and parents Olof and Dorothy Ericson.

Memorial services will be held at Lutheran Church of the Foothills, 5102 N. Craycroft Rd. in Tucson, Arizona on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at 1:30 pm.

RuthAnn will be laid to rest at Wurtemburg Cemetery in Rhinebeck, New York later in June.
