Obituary of Phyllis B. Brown
Phyllis was born in Tulsa, OK on October 21, 1932 and passed away peacefully at home on February 1, 2023.
She had two siblings, Bill and Shirley, who along with her parents, Homer and Oma, and two husbands, Glenn and Jim, preceded her in death. Her father was a wildcat oil rig worker and her early years were filled with constant moves - over 60 by age eleven.
As an adult (before moving to Arizona in 2001) she lived in Wyoming, Colorado, Montana, California, and Nevada.
Throughout her life she had various occupations as a beautician, a chuck wagon cook, and a motel manager but what she truly loved was her role as nurturing mother and wife. She was gentle, caring, and loving not only to her family but her Christian Community. She was the central hub in the wheel of her family and ensured all members remained abreast of goings on throughout the Heiden, Allen, and Brown families.
She loved the Lord with all her heart and epitomized the finest of Christian values. She learned to play the piano so she could support her first husband’s ministry. She gave willingly and generously and cultivated the heart of Jesus. She loved supporting the church and thoroughly enjoyed the social aspects of church functions and the fellowship of close church friends.
She loved animals and nature but was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. She is survived by two sons and a daughter as well as grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and step children.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Agape Hospice for their wonderful support and care over the last few weeks of Phyllis’s life. In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation to your favorite church or missionary organizations.
