So many memories to even list here, Chris was a good man, a great brother to me, we had a lot of fun playing trivia games together and we both liked 60’s and 70’s music. I took care of my brothers like they were my own kids. Like a Mom. I Love You Chris and I will miss you very very much!

Even though I didn't met him... From what I've heard about my grandpa... He was a great guy with a big heart... As I got the news from mom as he passed, I curled up in a ball crying... May God guard his soul safely into heaven. I wish I could have met him in person before. But it's great to hear that he was always able to be there for my two little sisters. Again, may God guard and bless his soul.
In love

My brother Chris and I were very close growing up, we had so much fun together, We always played baseball together,
In Carpentersville Illinois, Every summer we would always go swimming at public pool within walking distance, winter
Time we would go ice skating and play hockey on outside skating rink, we would play and skate for hours then go warm
Up inside a Kentucky fried chicken food store nearby, then go back out and skate and play hockey till dark, we would walk
Home with our toes frozen and hurting from the very cold Illinois weather, We both worked at the Valley news Agency in
Carpentersville Illinois, As kids, Getting up at 3:00am on weekends to go to work, Had a lot of fun working there one of
Our friends Larry Scully worked there with us, So many good times working there, we had a lot of the same friends
Growing up always riding bikes together, Jumping over trash cans with our bikes when Evel keneval was popular in
The 1970’s, Chris and our friends started filming ourselves doing stunts when the six million dollar man tv show was
Popular, We did some crazy stunts, jumped off roof of house, many other stunts we filmed or took pictures of,
Chris and I would camp out in tent in backyard a lot during the summer, we usually had another friend with us
Daniel Martinez camp with us a lot, Chris and Myself went bowling very often in Carpentersville Illinois it was
Within walking distance and we had money from working at the valley News Agency, A lot of bowling we got
Good bowling, but Chris learned how to throw a curve ball bowling just like the Professionals do, he got himself
A bowling ball and had the holes cut for his hand, He used that bowling ball all the time, Chris got very good
At bowling always throwing strikes just like the Professionals do,,, Chris and myself went to the movies all
The time it was within walking distance, Winter time had many snowball fights with all our friends, when in high school
We and whole family moved to Tucson Arizona in 1976, It was hard at first, but There was a eighteen hole golf course
At Tucson Estates where we moved to in Tucson az, Chris and myself both learned how to play golf and we would
Go golfing almost all the time so much fun together, We had the same friends in Tucson Estates, We all did so many
Things together a lot of memories together during high school living at Tucson Estates, after Chris Graduated high school
He joined the Army then went to Germany where he married and had to daughters, Jennifer and Stephanie, I went
To visit Chris when he was stationed at Fort Indian Town Gap, in Pennsylvania, It was 1985, very close to Hershey
Pennsylvania, We went to the Hershey chocolate factory, and the Hershey amusement park, very nice time together,
We saw the first back to the future movie at the theatre there in Pennsylvania 1985, As we got older we both had wives
And lived farther away from each other, but always saw each other during Christmas in Phoenix Arizona, That’s where
Our dad and stepmother lived and I lived in Phoenix also,, Chris and myself years later became sick with Heart problems,
Chris was my best friend we did so much together growing up, I loved Chris so much, When we were little kids just moving

From 1979 - 1983 Chris was stationed in Münster / Hessen / GERMANY
Think it was called the NATO Site 111, where he was serving in the 6th MP Company.
It was the time, Terrorist (RAF) threats seemed to be on a weekly basis .
On many occasion, the post was closed and everyone in it had to stay put until further notice.
He did his share of pulling Tower duties… guarding „Dr. Pepper“ as he would call it ….
(…… it was more items of the atomic kind …. As it was published after the Kaserne was closed .)
Nevertheless, after a short time he got himself promoted and an off base apartment in Town …
which meant no more room inspections :)
and he just loved it …
Chris had (then) in-laws, and many German friends there.
We were blessed with the arrival of Jennifer around that time …
it was very exiting, sometimes strenuous as a young father and military service man.
But he always made it, and still found time to unwind with us.
Skiing down the glacier on the Zugspitze, ( Germany‘s highest Mountain ), sight seeing Tours throughout Germany, and ship tours on the Rhine River were one of the many activities he enjoyed.
Chris loved the Fashing Season .
Visiting the costume parties and parades .
He even ate pickled Hering after a night of long partying .
He soon got accustomed to the German walking / hiking culture .
And of course, their ending in one of the many beer gardens and Gasthauses after a long hike.
Fests and Fairs were a great fun place to go .
Many good things to eat … but forget that Blood sausage …!!
He didn’t like it …
Chris understood German well and could hold a conversation.
Of course with a lovely American accent .
Once our car was stolen, and used in an armed robbery …!
Chris managed all the German police interrogation, since he had to proof he wasn’t the masked robber .
Around 1984 until 1986 we were stationed in Fort Indian Town Gap Pennsylvania .
Now it was real policing duty !
(Which also meant once responding to a call of brake and entry in his then own home while his family was upstairs. Remembering him running through the house
with his pulled weapon, but the burglar fled through the back door)
It was a somewhat rural area there in Lancaster County, and he picked up on bowling as recreation again …. He was real good at that ….
Strike after strike !
1985 Stephanie was born and a few month, early 1986, he and the family got stationed to Kaiserslautern Germany, which then was the biggest American community outside the US.
(That January we, like million others, witnessed the challenger catastrophe on TV.
Feared through the nuclear disaster of Chernobyl in April, but Chris always found the words to comfort our worries.)
He then got the position as the NCO IC of Traffic Investigation there .
But Chris never really liked the big city life there.
Every free weekend was spent with friends and family in Münster .
He liked Motorcycling … even a crash once did not keep him off that hobby .
We all remember the Rammstein Air disaster ….
He worked many days there afterwards …
it was horrible what he and his soldiers had to face there.
Chris always loved cars, he owned many of them during his tours here .
Best was the old historic VW Beetle during that time in K-Town … a light blue, easy to fix bundle of joy without seatbelts in the back …
Life was so carefree then …..
The last Tour was the position as an Army Recruiter in Tucson.
He did good in that position and it was lovely being around the Arizona Family.
Even though our paths separated in 1990 we kept in touch .
Chris came all the way to Germany for visit to the girls and grandchildren here 3 times .
We were shocked to hear of his passing and our hearts go out to Tommie the Kids, grandchildren, Betty , Kim , Daniel, Patrick, all nieces, nephews and their children .
And to you Chris …. May you be kept save in the arms of the Angeles .
If you see Rita …. tell her: babbel deitsch mit mir….
Thank you for being part of our lives.
Your spirit will live on in your children and grandchildren .
It is so hard to let you go …….
In loving memory,
Jutta Andrews

+ 1
My Dad, taken way too soon. It breaks my heart in million pieces knowing he will never ever come back. I will forever keep him in my memories and in my heart. I know he will be watching over us!
I remember the first time I came to visit him from Germany. I was so excited. I got to meet his wife, as I always refere her to my „Arizona Mom“. He made my first trip unforgettable and I thank him and Tommie for that. I always had a place to stay.
When my ex husband got deployed he made sure that I wasn’t completely alone. We used to play tiger woods golf all the time and would have such a blast. I remember how much we laughed.
Then in 2015 I came to visit again with my now husband. He was so caring to him and made sure we were comfortable. In 2017 he flew to Germany to walk me down the isle at our wedding. That meant the world to me. In 2019 we visited gain, that time with our son Luke. Immediately Luke and my das had a special bond. Luke would call him Opa Schoki , which means grandpa chocolate in German. Luke would get up in the morning and sneak in the den to my dad and he would always give Luke M&Ms. Luke is almost 5 now and still calls him Opa Schoki. He had that special bond to his grandchildren, as you can read in his obituary. Just on Thursday the 19th on February I texted him the last time, telling him that his new grandbaby will be a boy! I told him I didn’t know any names and it was a tough one this time… he straight up wrote : OBI WAN …. (Because of our son Luke)…. He always had good jokes and new exactly how to make me laugh. If I had known that that was the last time I would read from him I would have, as always, written that I loved him. I know he knew that anyway.
So dad, if you read this from up there… you know I love you and miss you terribly. Do me a favor and keep an eye on all of us.
Always in our hearts,
Stephanie (your Beanie) , Ben , Luke and Baby

I have many of great memories with Uncle Chris. We got to go to several ballgames. Even got him to wear a Dbacks jersey. I was glad we started going as for a little bit he wasn't following the cubs, then a few years after we started going to our games the cubs actually won it. I was even able to make it down to his place for one of the world series games. It was a great time. I remember he would visit very often when I lived in Tucson. We had lots of fun with many video games, there may still be a flat spot on the ceiling from Wii bowling. He was always a tough opponent, gave it his all with every game. I think he could have outfoxed Col. Hogan and probably given Speed Racer a tough time around the track if he ever tried racing. He made me feel like I was one of his own kids with the time we spent, he gave great advice, had amazing stories and helped me through some tough times. He treated my kids like they were his grandkids, we all miss him and loved him so very much. I am especially glad he got to spend some time with Leonidas Christopher Scott, our son currently 3 and he has quite the adventurous spirit, the same as his Uncle Chris. We didn't get as much time with him in person due to the distance, but I am grateful for the time we did get.
