Obituary of Frederick Patrick Steger

Frederick Patrick (Pat) Steger passed away peacefully at home on January 16, 2023 at the age of 77 with his family by his side. Survived by Judith Ann (Olimski) Steger of 53 years of marriage, his three children Joseph Patrick (Kimberly), Terence Jon, and Kristen Ann; seven grandchildren, Haylee, Colin, Lucas, Regan, Rory, Gwyneth and Frederick. Pat is preceded in death by his parents John F. Steger & Wynnette (Terry) Steger; his brother John Michael (Mike) Steger; his infant son Timothy Williamson Steger. 

Pat was born in Tucson, AZ at Tucson Medical Center on August  6, 1945. Pat comes from a proud Pioneer Tucson family. He attended Sam Hughes Elementary, Mansfeld Junior High, Tucson High School, class of 1963, and graduated from The University of Arizona in 1971 with a Bachelors of Science, Dual major of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture. 

Pat served honorably in the U.S. Navy, aboard The USS Kitty Hawk (CVA-63) during The Vietnam War. He was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation, Vietnam Service Medal With Two Bronze Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device and Nation Defense Service Medal (First Award). Pat loved life, his family and his yellow 1954 Chevy. He enjoyed the desert, plants, being outdoors & loved to visit the ocean. Pat will be deeply missed. 

Services will be held at 1:30pm, Friday, January 27th, 2023 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church.
