Obituary of Carroll Evans

Carroll Evans, 81, of Tucson, passed away after a brief illness on November 5, 2022. He was born in Hartford, Kentucky on November 20, 1940 to Jules and Gwendoline Evans. He grew up in both Kentucky and Ohio as the family moved from Hartford to Wooster, Ohio and back to their farm in Hartford several times. He is preceded in death by his parents, older brother Billy Phelps and younger brother Dairl Evans. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Elsie, his daughter Pat and his sisters Wilma (Robert) Speelman (Wooster), Linda Evans (Clearwater, FL), Lois Miller (Lakeland, FL), Joan (Don) Thokey (Dayton, OH), and Paula Evans (Clearwater, FL) and his brother Shirl (Patti) Evans (Wooster) along with numerous nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren. Carroll never met a stranger and loved people. He made dear friends at his church, workplace, and Carl’s Jr. He may have invented the dad joke (this is unconfirmed but very likely) and enjoyed tall tales.
 
A memorial service will be at Central Church of the Nazarene, 404 S Columbus Blvd, Tucson, on Sunday, November 20 at 3pm. A reception will follow.
