Obituary of Edilia Lopez

Edilia Lopez originally from Tucson, Arizona and late resident of Hillsboro, Texas which was now called home passed away peacefully on January 25, 2022. At the age of 104, Edilia experienced a full and vibrant life.

Edilia was born in Tucson in August of 1917 to parents, Faustino Vergara and Carmen R [Ruelas] where she resided most of her life. Edilia married Antonio V. Lopez and was married until his death on December 1991. Edilia was blessed with four children Bobby, Emma, Alice and Patricia. She was active in all the lives of her (multiple) grandchildren in Arizona, Colorado and Texas.

Edilia enjoyed raising her family, enjoyed the early morning watering of her yard and plants, needlework, watching basketball with the wild cats playing and the occasional trip to the casino. She was a member of the Guadalupanas church and the choir at Capilla de Guadalupe in Tucson. She was a very outgoing caring person, loved by all her family and friends. She lived in Hillsboro and enjoyed sitting outside on the swing with her small dog.

Edilia is survived by her children and many grand and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Broadway Boulevard, Tucson, Arizona, 85710 and Mass on Thursday February 17, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Santa Cruz Church, 1220 S. 6th Ave., Tucson, Arizona, 85713 with graveside services following at Holy Hope Cemetery, 3555 N.
