Obituary of Barbara Jean Lister

Barbara Jean Lister of Winooski, Vermont passed away on January 21st, 2012 to be with the Lord and with those who preceded her in death. Barbara graduated from Winooski High School in 1957 and it was there that she met her treasured husband David P. Lister who preceded her in death in February of 1998 and who is waiting with open arms for her in heaven. Barbara was born on September 27th, 1941 in Burlington, Vermont to father , Maurice (Pip) Lavallee who preceded her in death in 1981 and her beloved mother, Rita (Mim) Barber Lavallee who preceded her in death in 1980. Barbara was an active member of the Winooski community and fondly spoke of her life in Winooski. Barbara was immensely involved with her family and devoted her time and energy to corralling the family for special occasions, supporting her children and grandchildren's accomplishments, and selflessly providing love and care to her sister, children, and grandchildren. Cooking, scrap-booking, mastering the newest technologies and photography kept Barbara's spirit youthful and smile gleaming. Her vivacious spirit and zest for life will be survived by those she left behind. Jacqualine (Tet) Lavalee, her beloved sister and best friend; her seven cherished children, Darla, Deanna (DeeDee), Daryl and spouse Tricia, Dawnette and spouse Tim, Dustin and spouse Shelby, Dana and spouse Steve, Danielle and spouse Marc; and 22 loving grandchildren ,Ryan (awaiting his grandma in heaven), Victoria, Tyler, Teresa, Andrew, Nekolle, Andrina, Aaron, Ally, Rachel, Alycia, Andria, Ben, Teja, Marc Jr., David, Alex, Ethan, Mya, Eli, Sonny and Miles. Sister-in-laws, Ann Greene and Helen Burbo, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Barbara's contagious laugh and smile continued to touch family and friends through the remainder of her life. Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life with a viewing on Wednesday, January 25, 2012, 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Mass will be offered 10:00 am, Thursday, January 26, 2012 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1375 S. Camino Seco, with burial to follow at Our Lady of The Desert Cemetery.
