Obituary of Panfilo Varela

Panfilo "Chito" R. Varela went to be with the Lord on January 27, 2012 at the age of 91. He was born on December 6, 1920 in Pirtleville, Arizona. His wife, Concepcion Varela; his daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Hector Estrada and his four grandchildren, Lucette R. Estrada, Clarissa Estrada, Hector Estrada, Jr. and Andrew Estrada, will survive him, as well as numerous other family members. Varela served in the United States Army as second leading lieutenant during World War II. He later committed his life in a career of carpentry and will forever be remembered for his talent. He enjoyed reading, writing, history, politics and sharing stories with his grandchildren. He was well known for his optimism, kindness and helping others in need. He will always be remembered as a faithful servant of God. He enjoyed speaking the Word of God, singing praises to Him, and sharing his Bible studies with family and friends. He will be greatly missed, and his testimony of having faith in God and the importance of unity among the family will forever be cherished. Funeral Service 6:00 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2012 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. Interment will follow on Saturday, February 4, 2012, 10:00 a.m., in Desert Vista Cemetery, 2151 S. Avenida Los Reyes.
