Obituary of Robert Joseph Frantois Houyoux

Robert J.F. Houyoux 80, passed away on March 2, 2012. Bobby was born in Jumet, Belgium and was the chord harmonica player with the World Champion “Trio Candido,” along with Pierre Herbineaux (AKA Harmonica Pierre) and Arlette Dumont-Penn. Bobby and The Trio Candido performed widely in Europe, especially in Paris, throughout the 1960s and beyond. In the mid 1970s The Trio Candido toured the USA and eventually Bobby and the trio settled in Tucson in 1976. Bobby became a US Citizen in the late 1970s. From 1976 Bobby became an active and very successful real estate investor and land splitter. He always retained his love of music and he could frequently be seen on the dance floor in Tucson. Bobby was very generous, kind and loved to make jokes. He brought us joy and we loved him well. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy and the remaining 2 members of The Trio Candido and his brother-in-law, William Penn. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 15, 2012 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.
