Obituary of Marilyn Ann Sherman

Marilyn Ann Sherman Passed away on the March 18, 2012, ending a life of service as a Christian, a nurse, a Soldier, a mother and wife. She was born on August 27, 1934, in Bradley, SD, and her family moved to Oregon while she was still young. They settled in Springfield, where she graduated from High School and earned her RN from Emmanuel Hospital in Portland. She served as an Army Nurse in the US and Germany, where she met and married Charles L. Sherman IV in 1962, beginning a half century as a loving wife and mother. She accompanied her husband through many moves and assignments until they retired in Tucson AZ in 1974, where she supported his second career for many years as his cheerleader, sometimes secretary, and as his partner in service as a Lion. She lived and loved being a mother to her children and their spouses, and being grandmother to her four grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Charles of Tucson; two children and their spouses, Charles (Elizabeth) of Tucson, and Stephanie (Anthony) of Tacoma, WA; four grandchildren, Charles, Andrew, Ashlynn, and Erika; her brother James (Jeanie) of Eugene, OR; and sister Sharon (Donald) of Ashland, OR; as well as many nieces and nephews. For her many friends throughout the community who will miss her easy laugh, kind heart, and desire to serve, a service will be held on March 22, 2012 at 10:00 AM, at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway, followed by interment at the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Sierra Vista, AZ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Carondelet St. Joseph Hospital in Tucson.
