Obituary of Marilyn Carlstrom

Marilyn Anne Heinzer Carlstrom was born December 26, 1931 in Plainfield, New Jersey to Gerald and Anne (Stevens) Heinzer. Marilyn was the second of nine children she was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Steven, Dean, Janet, and Mary Ellen. Marilyn graduated from Dunellen High School in 1949 and in 1951 received the title of Registered Nurse from Muhlenberg School of Nursing in Plainfield, New Jersey. Marilyn married her wonderful Husband Raymond J. Carlstrom of Crystal Falls, Michigan in 1956 whom preceded her. She followed her Husband to Detroit, Michigan and upon his retirement they moved to Fort Myers, Florida were they cared for her parents until their death. In 1997, she followed her Husband back to Iron River, Michigan to live in the house he designed and built for her. Marilyn was the champion of her family ensured everyone who touched her was treated fairly and properly taken care of. She dedicated her life to taken care of her family and watched over every one. On March 24, 2012, she started a new watch over her family from afar. Her two daughters survive her: MaryBeth, Wendy Jo, and husband Bobby. Marilyn is also survived by her three Grandchildren: Janet, Julie, and Christopher, and two Great granddaughters Hannah and Kaitlynn. Her siblings Gerry, Fred, Nancy and Doug, also survives her A viewing and service will be held at 9:00 AM and 11 am April 9, 2012 at Brings Funeral home, committal immediately following at East Lawn Cemetery. The children suggest memorials to United Lutheran Church for camp scholarships or an Alzheimer foundation.
