Obituary of Tonya Rose Swanson

Tonya Rose Swanson of Tucson, Arizona and formerly of Carmel, Indiana passed away on Saturday 11:15 p.m. April 28, 2012. at Peppi's House, Hospice in Tucson, Arizona from mastasized breast cancer. Tonya was born on November 17, 1969 in LaPorte, Indiana to Charles Laverne Swanson and Margaret Rose (Hayter) Swanson. She resided all over the world as her parents were in the military and stationed at numerous locations during their military career. She attended grade school in Sierra Vista, Arizona and high school in Germany, graduating from Rochester High School in 1988. She attended Vincennes University, majoring in journalism. While in college she met her circle of friends who became her brothers and sisters. During her time of illness many friends from around the world came to visit her. She attended the Orchard Park Baptist church in Carmel, Indiana. Her hobbies included scrap booking, card making, and photography. She loved taking pictures and turning them into works of art. She had the most wonderful gift of making everyone feel special and never had an unkind word regarding anyone She leaves behind her parents, Charles L. Swanson of Rochester, Indiana and her mother Margaret Rose Swanson of Tucson, Arizona. She is survived by her beloved pets Kiki and Charley. Stepmother Rose Swanson three stepbrothers four stepsisters. Her grandmother Bev Keene of LaPorte, Indiana. Her aunts and uncles, Jean (Richard) Hayter of New York; Charles (Judy) Hayter of Pikeville,Tennessee; Luanne (Larry) Long of Walkerton, IN, Shirl (Bill) Daniels and Donna (Bruce) Kessler of Tucson, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Walter and Eleanor Hayter, Don Keene, Albert & Bonnie Swanson, Uncles Dan Swanson and Don Meyer. Aunt Sue Hayter. Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on May 12th, 2012 at the Orchard Park Presbyterian Church 1605 East 106th Street. Indianapolis, IN. Celebration of Life to follow at Steak & Shake 635 Carmel Drive Carmel, IN. 46280. Please bring photos and stories that you would like to share in memory of Tonya.
