Obituary of Frankie Mae McDemmons

Frankie Mae Washington McDemmons was called into the arms of Christ on Saturday, April 28, 2012. Frankie was born November 3, 1918 in Pittsburg, Texas to the late Luther and Effie Washington. She moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1943 and united with Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, where she continued to be a member until death. She married Albert McDemmons in 1946. She was employed at Thelma's Beauty Shop for over 25 years. She was an active member of Circle 8 Missionary Society, Progressive Civic Club, Arthritis Association, volunteer Guest Relations for Access Tucson and many other organizations, receiving many awards for service throughout the community. She was preceded in death by her mother, Effie, in January; her husband, Albert, in June 1994 and her sister, Mary Paris in July, 1999. Frankie is survived by her nephew, Robert Paris, of Dallas, TX: two nieces, Tommie Clayton and Rena Bendaw (Harold), of Albuquerque, NM; cousins, Suzette Beidteman and Donald Johnson of Los Angeles, CA; many great and great-grandnieces and nephews, many church daughters and sons, friends and neighbors. Viewing will be held at BRING'S MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 236 S. Scott Ave., 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 4, 2012. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 210 E. Lester. Burial to follow at South Lawn Cemetery.
