Obituary of Anna B Wood

Anna B. Wood 77, passed away unexpectedly on May 6, 2012 in Tucson, AZ. She was born September 2, 1934 in Oliver, GA to Ernest Asby and Julia (nee Easley) Lawton. She is survived by her husband James Wood; daughter Robin McCoy; son Stanley Barnett Jr.; step-son James A. Wood; granddaughter Alyse McCoy; grandson Jared McCoy; brothers Charles and Ernest Lawton; sisters Lillie Travis and Viella Durham; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by great-grandparents Rev. Brister and Hester Lawton, and Thomas and Easter Easley, Sr.; grandparents Thomas and Henrietta Easley II, and Wash and Rhoda Ann Lawton; parents Ernest and Julia Easley Lawton; brothers Elias, Elijah and Floyd; sisters Bessie and Gladys; cousin Wash Mitchell; and her first husband, Stanley Barnett, Sr. Anna worked as a receiving inspector for Hughes. The family wishes to acknowledge the many acts of kindness and generosity that they have received during this difficult time. Funeral services for Anna will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 9:00 am at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 226 E. Lester Street, Tucson, AZ. Interment will follow at 1:00 pm at the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1300 Buffalo Soldier Trail, Sierra Vista, AZ.
