Obituary of Rudolph Leon

Rudolph "Rudy" G. Leon, 95, was born 23 November 1916 and received his invitation to be with the Lord on 16 May 2012. A World War II Army / Air Force veteran of the 455th Service Squadron, his decorations and citations included a New Guinea Campaign Star (WDGO28), an Asiatic Pacific Theatre Ribbon (WD Cir 62), Philippine Liberation Ribbon (WD Cir 136), American Defense Ribbon (WD Cir 27) and Good Conduct Medal (GO 2 Hq 8th Air Sv Gp). He is preceded in death by grandson, Enrique Olivas, Survived by his devoted wife of 73 years, Eva Carrasco Leon, daughters Lupe Olivas (Henry, d.) and Virginia Wortman (James, d.), son Rudy, 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, and many of over 400 former foster children throughout 46 years service. Visitation will be held at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E Broadway Blvd., from 5 to 9 PM on Monday, May 21, 2012 with Rosary recited at 7 PM. A Celebration-of-Life Mass will take place Tuesday, May 22, 2012, 10 AM at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 1800 S. Kolb. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery, 3555 N. Oracle Road
