Obituary of Jose C. Rivas

Jose C. Rivas 78, passed away May 19, 2012. Survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Magdalena; sons, Robert (Lori), Ray (Rosa) and Steve (Laura); sister Angie and 4 brothers Roger, Alex, Albert, and Max; 8 grandchildren Jennifer, Ivette, Joey, Ivonne, Rose, Monica, Marisa, and Marina; 2 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members along with many friends. Jose served in the United States Air Force for 4 years and married Magdalena on July 19, 1958. He worked at Davis Mountain Air Force Base for 28 years until he retired at age 55. Jose was a magnificent husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend. He loved the outside world and everything it had to offer him. He especially loved to fish, water ski, work on cars, and garden. Jose was a wonderful inventor as well, he always found a way to make something better than it once was. He lived a spectacular life right until his last breath. Jose Rivas was a most wonderful man that always tried to better himself or family no matter the situation. So let us rejoice for his magnificent life and all his accomplishments along with it. Visitation will be 5-7 PM, Friday, May 25, 2012 at Bring’s Broadway Chapel, 6910 E. Broadway with a Scripture Service and Rosary at 6:00 PM. Military Honors conducted by Davis Monthan Base Honor Guard. Donations in Jose’s memory may be made to Casa De la Luz Hospice, 7740 N. Oracle Rd., Tucson, AZ 85704.
