Obituary of George T. Volk
George T. Volk Passed away peacefully the evening of June 27, 2012 surrounded by his wife of 62 years, children and grandchildren. George was born on March 6, 1925 to Marguerite and Joseph M. Volk of Pennington, NJ. After serving in the USAF in Ireland, England and Germany in WWII, he graduated from Rutgers University in 1948. In 1950 he met and married Carol Nussbaum of Fort Wayne, IN and they built their life together in Trenton where he had a Dodge dealership. They moved out West to Tucson in 1964, where for 40 years George was involved in Real Estate Brokerage and Building and Investments in Arizona. Loving all life had to offer with passion and intensity, he was happiest when his day was filled to the brim. Daily he thanked God for his good fortune, and especially for his wonderful wife and family. Predeceased by his parents and brother, Joseph. George is survived by his wife, Carol; his children, Anne Marie Volk, John Volk, David (Moira) Volk, Tim (Terry) Volk, Rick (C.J.) Volk, Dan (LeeAnn Bartolini) Volk, Carol (Dave) Bray and Peggy (Tom) Kusian; 22 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his sister, Marguerite (Eric) Solomon and beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 2, 2012 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, with a gathering to follow in the Copper Room at the El Con Club at Randolph Golf Course. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Ann's Convent, 3820 N. Sabino Canyon Rd., 85750.
