Josh Wisham

Obituary of Josh E. Wisham

Josh E. Wisham Josh peacefully slipped away from us in his Tucson home, blanketed in the love of his family, on Thursday, July 19, 2012. He is survived by his wife Lorre Wisham; daughter Brianne Ulmer; mother Betty Wisham; sister Wendy Wisham and nephews Bill Bloat, Justin Brough and Joshua Brough. Josh was preceded in death by his father Dr. Wayne Wisham and his nephew Marshall Brough. Josh was born in Reno, Nevada and lived in several places during his childhood years. After graduating from Evening High School in Mountain View California in 1976, Josh hitchhiked across the country and enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served from 1976 until 1980. As a Senior Airman, Josh was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal for outstanding achievement. Following his time in the Air Force, he attended the University of Utah where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences. Josh spent most of his career in Healthcare Information Technology, sixteen of which he was in executive level roles. He worked for Intermountain Healthcare, Clinicom, PACE Health Management Systems, Sunquest, Misys Healthcare Systems, and Medsphere. He led product development, service, and operations organizations. Josh was an executive consultant to Healthcare IT companies and investment firms for the past six years and concurrently launched a Health Technology Training Solutions company 18 months ago. Throughout his career, Josh was known for his intelligence and intuition. He was able to put just the right spin on a situation that yielded a positive outcome. He had a knack for remembering names, and making everyone feel like they were equally important no matter what their position. He delighted in seeing those around him succeed and one of his greatest pleasures was to coach and mentor others. When he wasn’t working, Josh was an adventurer. He loved to do anything in the outdoors and his travels and stories are far too numerous to list. It was during one of our trips to Turks & Caicos that we added Kayko and Maya, sibling Potcake puppies, to our family. They evolved into his constant companions and Josh was charmed by their personalities. He was a private man who would do anything for his family with a very close circle of friends whom he held dear. It is impossible to find all of the words that describe what an inspirational, warm, loving, thoughtful and witty man Josh was. Those who had the pleasure of knowing him will no doubt have a long list of words of their own. He was a treasure. His memory will live on in the hearts that will always hold him close, the relationships he built, the careers he touched, the smiles his memories will invoke and the people we have become because we knew and loved him. Per his request, there will not be a public service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Josh's name to the National Parks Conservation Foundation at https://secure.npca.org/site/Donation2?df_id=1420&1420.donation=form1
