Obituary of Mayme Myrtle Fraley

Mayme Myrtle Fraley 1919-2012 Mayme Myrtle Fraley was born in Middletown, Ohio November 13, 1919. She died of natural causes on August 18, 2012. She was ninety-two. She was a resident of Wilmington, NC for the past twenty-two years. She was the daughter of William and Matilda Owens. She had five sisters and two brothers. She married James Victor Fraley when she was sixteen. Together they raised four children, James Victor, Kenneth Myrle, Roberta Elaine, and Sandra Delores. They were married for fifty years, until his death in 1987. The Fraley Family moved from Ohio to Tucson in 1954. They joined the Ajo Way Church of God and were very active in church programs. Ms. Fraley was an excellent Sunday School Teacher and also sang in the choir. She baked wonderful cakes and made flower arrangements for fund raising. The church could always count on her for support. As a profession, Ms. Fraley was a Licensed Vocational Nurse and worked for Pima County Hospital until retirement. She also worked part time for Avon and Stanley Home Products. Ms. Fraley was well known for her beautiful crochet needlework which she lovingly shared with friends and family. If a baby was anticipated, you were sure to receive a blanket or sweater set and booties for the little one. As a friend you could always count on some good, encouraging advice. She had a way of pinpointing the problem and would offer the advice with spiritual insight. Her Christian faith and strong will served to sustain her through the difficult times of her life. She is survived by her two sons and their wives, James Victor and Sandra Dee Fraley, Kenneth Myrle and Rosalee Fraley, and daughter Roberta Elaine Fraley Ezell. She had eight grand-children, as well as great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Victor, and her daughter Sandra Delores Fraley Curran. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. Visitation will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Bring’s Broadway Chapel, 6910 E. Broadway, with the Funeral Service beginning at 2:00 P.M.. Burial to follow at South Lawn Cemetery.
