Obituary of Thomas Darwin Murray

Thomas Darwin Murray, “Tom,” of Tucson, Arizona died peacefully in his home of 48 years on August 20, 2012. Born in Kansas City, Kansas on October 13th, 1929, Tom was a proud veteran of the Korean War, had a long career in mortgage banking and real estate, and most importantly was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Cleo Murray, children John, Tom, Teri, and Lisa and their spouses, 14 grandchildren, and 8 great grand children. Tom was an active man who loved to play tennis and golf as well as watch sports, especially his beloved Wildcats. He was a handy man, known for fixing the unfixable and re-purposing what most would regard as trash. He’ll be lovingly remembered as a good listener who was kind and who greeted everyone with a smile. He always made room for dessert. A rosary will be held at Brings Broadway chapel at 5pm on August 24 and a Funeral mass will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church on August 25th at 9:30 am. An interment will be held on Tuesday August 28th at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix at 2 pm.
