Obituary of John DeShazo

John DeShazo, 77, of El Paso, Tx, passed away on Tuesday, Sept 25, 2012. His life began on Sept 7, 1935 in La Grange, Ill., with his brothers Dennis, Don, and Jerry. He entered the Army in 1955 and spent a tour in Korea as a tank commander and was very proud to be an American soldier. He was discharged honorably in 1958 so that he could marry the love of his life, Judith on Nov 28, 1959. He was self-employed his entire life and was very successful in all his endeavors. His hobbies included trap shooting in which he was a top contender and golf at Anthony Country Club, which was his second home for many years. He loved to travel, especially with family and friends. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were a very big part of his life and he considered them his best friends. He always looked forward to Saturdays when he spent time with his Poker Buddies and Thursday’s lunch at Erins with his close friends. His LARGER THAN LIFE presence will be missed by his numerous friends, his brother Don, his children, John (Tammy); Denise (Billy); Charlene (Chris); his grandchildren, Eddie; Michael; Michelle; and his great-grandchildren Kristina; Aidan; Devin. We love you and we will always miss you. Funeral services will be separate, but join us in a Celebration of Life on Saturday, Oct 6 from 2pm-5pm at Erin’s Bar and Grill 6306 N. Mesa St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
