Judith Burkhardt

Obituary of Judith Clark Burkhardt

Judi Burkhardt 73 years of a life well-lived ended on November 6, 2012 in Tucson for Judi Burkhardt, wife of Dr. Boyd R. Burkhardt. We celebrate Judi's life and her legacy. Her boundless energy and relentless positivity enriched the lives of everyone she touched. Her deep love for children and untiring efforts to care for and support those around her, inspired all who knew her. She raised three children who are all happily married, close friends and raising a new generation of children nurtured by Judi's love and affection. Judi lived life to the fullest. Born in Boston, she completed her nursing studies at the Deaconess Hospital, where she met Bob. Judi served as a pediatric nurse throughout her life, volunteering many hours at the Casa de los Ninos crisis nursery in Tucson. She trained in scientific illustration and demonstrated her artistic gifts with her drawings, ceramics and photography. Judi also studied archaeology and visited Egypt as part of an archaeological dig. Her athletic enthusiasm and adventurous spirit took her scuba diving in the Atlantic, skiing in the Alps and dragging canoes through bogs to get to the best Canadian fishing spots. Her happiest moments, however, were with her husband, surrounded by her children and holding any of her five grandchildren in her arms. Judi is survived by her husband Bob and by their three children; Susan Baier, Boyd Burkhardt and Sarah McKenzie. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations be made to: www.SunHealthFoundation.org "In Memory of Judi Burkhardt, for Alzheimer's Research" or Casa de los Ninos www.CasaDeLosNinos.org "In Memory of Judi Burkhardt" Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL.bringfuneralhome.com
