Obituary of Dick Tillis

Dick Tillis born December 21, 1947, passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully January 8, 2013. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Tillis and is survived by his loving mother, Carol; his brother, Don; his devoted wife of almost 41 years, Sue; his amazing children, Rich (Misha) and Michelle and the joys of his life, his four grandchildren, Tyler, Journey, Liberty and Bell. Dick moved to Tucson from Ohio 50 years ago. He graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelors Degree and then served in the United States Army. He and his wife lived the first year of their married life in Seoul, Korea where he served as a Military Pharmacist. After his service, he received his Masters of Arts in Management from University of Phoenix. He worked for Samsonite Corporation but spent almost 30 years of his career at Hughes/Raytheon. His happiest years by far were the last several, which, in retirement, gave him unlimited amounts of time to spend with his grandchildren. Visitation will be at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway at 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 13, 2013. A Memorial Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 14, 2013 at St. Pius X, 1800 N. Camino Pio Decimo, Tucson 85715. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dick Tillis Memorial Scholarship, which will be awarded to a student with special needs in Sunnyside School District, for post secondary education.
