Obituary of Beverly Wayne Basham

Beverly Wayne Basham passed away on February 3, 2013 after a long illness. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Irene Davis and Henry Rankin Basham and by his two brothers, Truman and Larry. He is survived by his loving wife, Bobbie; his children, Robert, Joseph, Ryan, JoAnn, Charles, Matthew, Jonathan, Callie, Daniel and Sarah and 43 grandchildren. He was born in Cunningham, Tennessee and was raised in downtown Detroit, Michigan. After serving in the military for three years at the end of the Korean War, he went to college in Flagstaff where he met his wife and married her on July 31, 1959. After college he joined IBM and spent the first half of his career in Endicott as a programmer and then a manager. In 1979 he moved to Tucson where he finished his career at IBM and spent the remainder of his life. Bev spent many years in dedicated service to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in various positions such as Scoutmaster, Bishopric member, and youth leader. He was a positive influence on many lives and helped out many of those in need. It seems there was always somebody that he had invited to stay with the family while they worked out their problems. Bev loved to work around his house. He did masonry work, an addition to the house, and a guest house. He was a long-time beekeeper and gardener. He was an exemplary husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be missed by many people. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL.
