Obituary of Carl Rohrssen
Carl J. Rohrssen—husband, father, and grandfather, retired from Carondelet (Tenant Health Network) in December, 2016. At the age of 65, Carl died peacefully at home on Friday, November 3, 2017 in Tucson, AZ.
Carl was born in Elgin, IL on December 16, 1951 to Howard and Clarise Rohrssen. He married his best friend and wife Dawn Rohrssen, in 1991. After which they moved to sunny Arizona to live out their lives together golfing, enjoying life and having fun.
Carl is survived by his wife Dawn, and his children and grandchildren; Candace (Mike) Whitley, Joshua, Haley; Todd (Melissa) Rohrssen, Bryce; Todd (Tanya) Bender, Jacob; Tracy Bender; Amanda Rohrssen and Natalie. His siblings Ralph (Joanne) Rohrssen; Cheryl (Jim) Fiser; Allen Rohrssen; Brad Rohrssen. Proceeded in death by his father Howard Rohrssen and mother Clarise Rohrssen.
Carl once described his best accomplishment as becoming a father. The two things Carl never lacked were affection and passion for his family and friends. Carl was known for loving his dogs Abigail, Abby Too, Ditto, and Missy. As well as his love for his birds and corvettes.
Carl was drafted into the Army in 1971, where he served as a cook. He was awarded National Defense Service Medal and Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea). Honorable discharge in 1973. Member of the NRA, American Legion, Tucson Postal Golf Association and Arizona Golf Association.
Carl will be remembered for his generosity, caring nature, sense of humor, love of animals and people, as well as, his faith and love for his family most of all. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 10:00 am at Bring's Broadway Chapel 6910 E Broadway Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85710.
