Obituary of Bertha Elizabeth Salgado

 Bertha "Betty" Salgado

November 11, 1921 to January 14, 1922

Bertha Elizabeth Moore Salgado was born on November 11, 1921 in Cumpas, Mexico. She celebrated 100 years of life on November 11, 2021. She is preceded in death by her father George Edward Moore, her mother Romona Durazo Moore, her eight siblings and her husband of 55 years, Fernando Edward Salgado.

Betty’s father moved his family to Douglas Arizona when Betty was 12 years old. She met and married Fernando (Nando) in 1941. Together they raised 7 children. Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, a supporting sister, faithful friend and a dedicated member of the Altar and Rosary Society and Catholic Daughters of America at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church for over 50 years. Betty loved sewing, gardening and cooking. If you stopped by her house for a visit, it always fulfilled her heart to prepare something for you to eat, such as tortillas, albondigas, tamales, beans and rice, finished off with something sweet like a slice of pie and coffee. She was amazing!!
