Obituary of Barry Lee Ashburn

Barry Lee Ashburn, a loving husband, father and Bapo, 80, lived a full life in his birth town of Tucson, Arizona. After three years in the Army, he spent most of his working years in administration and finance, enjoying his years of retirement with his wife, Eileen, for almost 60 years. Barry loved watching Indy racing and sports, never missed reading his morning newspaper and after retirement enjoyed puttering with his plants and yard. He always made sure his family and home were cared for and made it a priority to attend family celebrations along the way.

He is survived by Eileen; his two sons, Jeffrey of Green Valley, Arizona (wife, Linda) and Keith of Prescott Valley, Arizona (wife, Chiharu); and two granddaughters, Sarah Ashburn-Peeples of Payson, Arizona (husband, Zach) and Hannah Ashburn of Prescott, Arizona. Barry also leaves his sister, Linda Richardson and family of St. Johns, Arizona to mourn his passing.

Along with the mourning of our loss, we rejoice in the time spent with him on this earth until Tuesday, January 18, 2022, and look forward to the day we are reunited with him in heaven. A memorial service to allow us to mourn and rejoice with friends and family will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022, 2pm in the Chapel at Tanque Verde Lutheran Church in Tucson, Arizona.
