To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under the sun…

A time to be born....

Ms. Nona Butler was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on August 26, 1931 to the late Lawrence Davis and Essie Mae Williams. She was raised and nurtured by the late Solomon Bearden.

A time to embrace ….

Nona attended school in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, she worked in Milwaukee, Wisconsin until she met and married David Butler, Sr. and became a full time housewife and mother. Nona loved family and often traveled home to Pine Bluff to spend quality time with family and friends which gave her great joy. Full of laughter and a smile she always had enlightening and funny stories to tell. Nona loved to sing praises to God and was a source of encouragement to many. You could often find her gracing her local church to worship where her angelic voice filled the room. Nona was a beautiful person, attentive daughter, great sister, loving wife, magnificent mother, and a good friend that brought joy to all who knew her.

A time to lose….

On Friday, December 10, 2021 at Sandstone of Tucson, Arizona Nona hearken to the voice of the Lord and quietly made her earthly departure destined for her heavenly home free from all sickness, worry, and pain.

A time to mourn….

Nona was proceeded in death by her parents; one brother Frankie Bearden, Sr.; two sisters Bessie Oglesby and Dorothy “Hoot” Bearden; three children Charles Holmes, Pamela Ward and Gregory Butler. She leaves to cherish her memories, five daughters, Madeline Bridges, Las Vegas, NV., Elizabeth Butler, Phoenix, AZ., Sandra Morton (Chris) Tucson, AZ., Tonya Lightfoot (Travis) Manassas, VA. and Tiffany Butler, Atlanta, GA., Four sons David Butler, Jr., Steven Butler (Barbara) Phoenix, AZ., Alex Butler, Houston, TX., and David C. Butler, Kankakee, IL.; numerous grandchildren, plenty of great grandchildren, and a pile of great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
