Obituary of Marie Zanaglio

ZANAGLIO, Marie born in France February 12, 1926, died peacefully November 27, 2021 at the age of 95. Marie was preceded in death by her husband Angelo Zanaglio, and their daughters Yvette Zanaglio, Marcelle Cox, Colette Mathews. Marie is survived by 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.   

Marie’s grandchildren were one of her greatest joys, she spent as much time as she could with them. She took them to the movies, the zoo, the Desert Museum, and the library. If there was a child friendly activity in town, she most likely took her grandchildren there.   

When Marie wasn’t taking care of her grandchildren she was often tending to her garden or spending time with her cats, who brought her great comfort in her later years.  

Marie was also involved in girl scouts; she was a scout leader while her daughter Colette was a girl scout as well as one of her granddaughters. She later became a volunteer with girl scouts while one of her other granddaughters was a girl scout. 

Marie took sewing class in Luxemburg and used those skills all the time. Anytime she saw you with holes in your clothes she would take them and fix them. If she washed your clothes for you and found an article of clothing with holes you wouldn’t see that item again until after it was sewn. She loved to sew different things, not just clothes. She did crochet, knitting and needlepoint as hobbies and taught those skills to her grandchildren. 

As a member of the Lady’s Guild, Marie was very involved at Our Mother of Sorrows Church. Marie loved to help in the different classrooms and the library as well as help with lunches for the students and staff while her children and grandchildren attended school at OMOS.   

In Marie’s memory, a Rosary will be recited Thursday, December, 9th at 10:30am followed by an 11:00am Mass at Our Mother of Sorrows located at 1800 S Kolb Rd, Tucson, AZ 85710. Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Desert Cemetery.
