Obituary of Betty R. George
Betty Ruth George passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 25th, 2021, in Tucson, Arizona. She was 91 years old.
Born “Betty Ruth Adair” on May 31, 1930, in Farwell, Texas to Ray and Ruth Adair. “Nanny,” as she was known to her children and grandchildren, lived her life as the epitome of a godly woman. She never crossed paths with anyone in her long life that was not met with a sincere smile and a gracious, kind word. She lived her life as a doer and not just a hearer of the Word.
Her greatest joy was her family. Her role as a wife and mother was exemplary. No woman need search any further for an example of a role model. She was supporting, loving, long suffering, selfless and compassionate, and was such, from the first day of her 68 plus years of marriage to the last. She did not aspire to a marriage of 50-50. She, and Bill’s extraordinary life together was lived as 100% and 100%. She was a mother, grandmother and great grandmother to friends, spouses and step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving and loved husband, Lawrence “Bill” George, her son Douglas, her sister Mary Lou, and her parents, Ray and Ruth Adair.
She is survived by her sisters, Doris Wanslee, Carol Ann Hubbard, Nancy Weatherspoon, her son William, daughter Lori, grandsons Benjamin, Douglas, Cooper, Matthew and Killian, granddaughters Kelley, Michelle, Ashley and Rachel and great-granddaughters Kennedy, Jolene and Summer.
