I am so sorry to hear about James. I worked with him on several projects at Vidant Health through the years. He was one of the kindest and most helpful gentleman that you could ask to work with. Thoughts and prayers to his family. He will be missed.

Kelley, I never got to know James well due to the physical distance that comes with living in different states, but, I knew all that I needed to about him simply because you chose him to be your husband. I’m sure that you chose him for many reasons but the two that must have sealed the deal were his huge heart and his ability to make you laugh. On the day of your wedding and during subsequent visits, those were the wonderful qualities that I saw in James. It makes me so sad that Dwight, Jason, Andrew, and I could not have spent more time with him and it makes us equally sad that we cannot be there with you and Connor now. Please know that we share in your grief and are praying for God’s strength and comfort for you both. We love you.

James, I'll always cherish the fun family memories we made together but I was counting on making many more with you, Kelley and Connor. The joy, smiles and laughter you brought to everyone around you will be sorely missed. Your Louisiana family sure loves you! Sending my love to your family and straight up to you in heaven.

I have had the great honor of knowing James, Kelley , and Connor, for a little over 20 years now. I was their hairstylist first, and they have become like family to me. His love and devotion for Kelley and Connor was palpable to all who knew them. He possessed a brilliant mind , and a kind heart. You couldn’t have someone more encouraging than James. You couldn’t find a better friend. I can tell you , that his sense of humor was second to none. Every time Kelley, James , and I were together, we would laugh and laugh. The kindness that the Black family has shown me, my husband, and my daughter will never be forgotten. We send our love, friendship, and deepest sympathies to Kelley and Connor. We will continue to pray for peace now, and in the days to come. We love you all , very much.

Jimmy filled up a room with personality, laughter, and love. He is in my earliest memories and some of my BEST times! He gave us 2 additional cousins to love, Kelley and Connor. He will never be forgotten.

Jimmy was my nephew and since he was a child he loved making people laugh. His million dollar smile got him out of trouble a lot. He was funny, kind and loved Kelly and Connor completely. He also had so many extended family members that he loved and that loved him. He leaves a vacancy in our family that will always be missed. We loved him so much and will continue our love in Kelly and Connor, they are our family as much as Jimmy was and will keep them in our prayers.
