Pauline Yvonne Gilliam

Pauline Gilliam returned home to her Lord and Saviour on 30 January 2021. Pauline was born on 12 May 1948 to James Gilliam and Florence (Hollis) Gilliam in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She attended Gladstone High School. After moving to Tucson, Arizona in 1985, she worked with mentally disabled children and adults. She had four children Tasha (Kevin) Hill, Meika Gilliam, John Gilliam, Ebonee Gilliam and Crystal Haralson. She leaves to cherish her memory 13 grandchildren: Aduan Wesley, Kevin Hill Jr, Elijah Wesley, Taylor Hill, Vicente Cook, Shiela Johnson, Kendall Hill, Isiah, Lillianna, and LaNeya Haralson, Tania Dockery, Jonah Morago and Bianca Verdugo. Her sisters Marion (Michael) Nelson-Duckery, Geraldine Purry, Edith Potter, Doreen (Larry) Johnson, Johna (John) Walker and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces as friends and extended family.
She is preceded in death by parents James and Florence (Hollis) Gilliam, her brothers William “Pluggy”, Johnny and James “Jimmy” Gilliam, her sisters Florine (Sigmund) Israel, Betty Gilliam, Lois (Hugh) Parker, granddaughter Meika Johnson and grandson Kyrie Lourant.
Pauline loved watching Law-And-Order and COPS; all of her grand-children can sing the theme song to COPS as they watched the show all the time. She enjoyed dancing in her living room listening to Motown and Gospel Music. She also had a Big Heart and she would often open her home to her clients inviting them over for dinner as she enjoyed cooking Soul Food.
A memorial will be held on Saturday 15 May 2021 starting at 10 AM (Mountain Standard Time - MST); at the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Tucson Lodge 1, 3445 N. Dodge Blvd., Tucson, AZ with Dr. Timothy Hall conducting, followed by a repast at the same location.
If you will be attending Pauline's Memorial please wear Purple as that was her favorite color. Due to COVID restrictions we will need to know if you plan to attend in person by 1 May 2021.
