Gordon Peterson

Obituary of Gordon Peterson

On Sunday, January 10, 2021, surrounded by his family, Ringo, and our mares, Gordon "Dale" Peterson, a loving partner, dedicated former husband, Daddy of seven, Gramps of fifteen and Great Papa of sixteen, passed peacefully just before his 91st birthday on the family's local ranch.

Daddy, a Korean War veteran, was a notoriously naughty boy, a fierce and loving cowboy, and an exceptional engineer and designer.  He was known to his family and friends for his integrity, passion for off-grid living, his mathematical "sizing up", riddles, and for the love and passion he always had for the animals under his care.  Yet to the grands it will always be his cowboy coffee, his from scratch pan-a-cakes, all while playing his harmonica and singing with his boy Scotty.

Pete, also known as "NodroG", leaves behind his partner of 11 glorious years Joan Lay and their beloved pet Scotty.  He also leaves behind his daughters Louise Gunarson (Ralph) and Sarah Peterson (Erick) as well as 31 grands and great grands.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Betty, and his children Allen, Edward, Rebecca, Virginia and Robert.  Sadly, daddy was the last of his era.

A graveside service and a family picnic dinner will be planned for late summer -early fall back in Port Wing, Wisconsin.
