Albert William “Pops” Ball passed away peacefully on 12/12/2020 at the age of 93. Born on April 30, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York, Al was raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. At the age of 16 he joined the Navy and served in combat during WWll as a Seaman 1st Class. Most notably, he was in the amphibious forces in the roles of coxswain and gunner aboard the USS Okaloosa (APA-219) earning, among other citations, the World War II Victory Medal.  After being honorably discharged from active service, Albert continued to serve another 5 years in the US Navy Reserves.  Shortly upon his return from military service he made his way to Tucson, Arizona.  Al owned a service station on 22nd/Kolb for many years before beginning a career in 1973 with the City of Tucson as a heavy equipment mechanic. Al was an avid bowler, golfer, fisherman, racing enthusiast and Green Bay Packers football fan. He and his wife Sue made many happy memories traveling in their motorhome across the country and to annual NASCAR events. Al, known and loved as “Pops” by his family, was a devoted grandfather to his seven grandchildren and two great granddaughters.

Al is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda Sue, his daughters Lori (Michael), and Holly (Mitch), son in law Edward, and his grandchildren, Alyssa, Lindsey (Cody), Stephanie (Andrew), Carly, Talon, Erin, Sutton, great grandchildren, Charlotte and Everly, sisters Betty and Tina.  He is preceded in death by his daughter Susan Danielle.
