Kenneth Betzen

Obituary of Kenneth Leo Betzen

Kenneth L. Betzen, 84, of Tucson AZ passed on July 4th 2020. He is survived by his wife Rosemarie, his sisters Betty and Carol, his three daughters Karyn, Deanna, and Michele, and his 10 grandchildren. Ken was born in Kansas, then after his service in the army moved to be with his parents in Arizona. There, he worked for Hughes Aircraft Company as an engineer and manager for over 30 years.

Ken was a master craftsman, builder, and mechanic who never hesitated to share his talents with the world. From building his family’s Hawley Lake and Pinetop  homes from the ground up to rebuilding cars and trucks, there was not much he couldn’t do. On top of these personal projects, he was always eager to help others with remodels, car repairs, or any handyman job in between. His other passion was sports – Ken was on a bowling team for over 40 years, and  while he watched almost all sports, he was an enthusiastic U of A fan.

Above all else, Ken was devoted to his family. He loved the time he spent with his wife and daughters in the White Mountains. His grandchildren will always cherish the meals they would share every weekend, the games they would play, and the many things he taught them. Ken held himself and others to a high standard in all aspects of life, inspiring them to do their best. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Services will be held on Monday at St. Joseph’s Church at 10 AM.

Ken supported San Miguel High School (https://www.sanmiguelcristorey.org/), a Catholic, Lasallian learning community, that empowers youth from underserved families. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you consider making a donation to the school.
