I’m glad my Kearney State roomie has gone to his reward. Great memories: charco burgers and a beer at Bico’s, poker games, and more. My parents really liked him. I will see you again someday.

That summer air
Feels different here than it did there
It still blows into my room but I don't care
That summer air
Oh, oh, how I miss you
My father's laugh
Some days I wish that I could just go back
But my feet aren't fast enough for me to catch
My father's laugh
Oh, oh, how I miss you
And I promise to you dad
I'll be back soon
'Cause nothing out there
Means as much as you
Goodbye old friend
Won't you leave the light on

Mr Lamborn was always in the front yard with his sun hat on picking each weed out of the grass for hours on end. That takes a lot of patience and commitment to excellence. Sorry for your loss.

Bob and I were only 21 months apart in age, and we attended Trinity Lutheran Grade School and BH high together two grades apart. He was smart, kind, and friendly, and was a great big brother to me and also a great example. When he bought his own car he would let me ride along to school or to Hastings with him without complaining. He was the one who drove Mom to Red Cloud when Shawn was about to be born because Dad was still at work. He was hardworking even as a boy with a paper route and later had a job at the BH Leader office. His friendliness earned him plenty of friends in grade school, high school, and college. He loved to sing, and was in choirs and a barbershop group. I was blessed to have him as my daughter’s godfather because I knew he was a man of strong faith and prayer. He was the perfect generous uncle to Sarah and Nate, and loved to make them laugh. He served his country in Korea and met the love of his life there. Bob brought Sonny and sweet little Sandy back to the US just in time to serve as the best man at my wedding. He was fiercely loyal to his family, and was overjoyed to have a son, Chris, who later became his loving caregiver along with Chris’ family, Sylvia, Emilie, and Sofia. I rejoice that Bob has joined all the saints in heaven because of what Jesus has done for him. I will miss Bob until I, too, join that heavenly choir.

I remember as a kid when I was visit my close friend Chris at Mr Lamborn's house that he always made me feel so welcome and created such a warm environment. I always felt so welcome. I remember at the time he was a single parent working at the veterans hospital and a devout man of God. Even as young and naive as I was at that age I knew that a man that can do all that and still be so patient and kind is someone to be admired. I'm extremely lucky to be able to say that I have the Lamborn family in my life.

Bob Lamborn was a true friend and a Christian. A smile was never far from him. He enjoyed life to the fullest and was fond of his siblings and their children. He loved his mother to pieces and would do almost anything for her. I truly enjoyed his friendship at Blue Hill, at college where we shared the same fraternity house and his rare visits from Georgia where he was employed. Any time spent with Bob was special.--Jerry Jacobitz
